Life goes floating along ...

So life in Shirasagi continues in the same vein as usual that of a turbulant flood. Yesterday we had our Halloween Party for all the little kiddies. It was pretty fun putting on activities and chaperoneing their trick or treating ... but because we were so busy I didn't even think about grabbing my camera >.< So I have to hope that some of the pictures I saw being taken I can get duplicates so that I can show people.
On the note of love life who knows what is going on. I continue to like Chelsea next door and then there are the rest of the women in my life. Plus last night I met a very nnice woman named "Sue" thats not her real name but that is what she told me people call her. Her japanese name I can't recall ;(. Anyway she was a very nice and interesting lady who works as a dental hygenist. Based on what she told me about how long she has been working and her schooling I guess she is around 28-31. She said she has been working as a dental tech for 7 years and if she graduated at 22 then that'd make her 29 ... but I have to have a margine of error right? She was very pretty and we seemed to be flirting a bit at least that is what people tell me. BUT, Eiko my friend who is married became very jelous (of what I don't know as we are just friends) and so I spent the evening calming her down and listening to her issues >.< Yes nice Steve strikes again to his detriment. While most of the social group was having fun downtown I was back at the residence ;_; By the time Eiko was sober and calm enough to leave I was tired and didn't feel like trying to catch up to everyone.
On the work side of things I'm having a good time and this week we'll have the culture festival. I get to be in the student government drama that they have put together so that should be lots of fun ^^. I will be asking my sensei's to try and record it for me so I can post that and just have for posterity.
Less than a week left til I'm offically a quarter century and I don't want to be that old >.< ! Guess I'll try for the whole young at heart idea.
Last thing for this post if anyone has spoken with Eric lately tell him I am worried about him and would he please respond to my e-mails (at least one!)

Love life ... XD

So this blog has become love line for Steve ... "your on the air." Lol, anyway my neighbor who I've had a crush on since she moved it had her boy friend of 8 years break up with her last week. Sad for her ... good for me >.> I talk big but have yet to make a move I feel a slight mourning period is in order for such a long relationship. That being said she has come over a couple time and we have talked for many hours this past week. Good right??? Anyway honestly I'm not getting my hopes up but if something were to happen it would be sweet as she is a very entertaining woman and she love Portland ... though she is from Arizona (i won't hold that against her). She is an avid reader, loves comedy ... need I say more. I short a woman I would very much like to date.
On to new news #2 ... lol. I went on a "date" with a Japanese girl I met over the summer. She is studying in Osaka. Very nice girl, though I dunno how much of a "date" we really had. I considered it a date but not sure what she considered it. It was just the two of us and we went to an Izakaiya (basically a social bar/restraunt, you can get any sort of drink you want and they have a wide selection of foods you can order to share in a group or just as a couple) talked for about 3 hours straight then she went back to her school in the country side "near Osaka" (it's about an hour trip but it is still considered Osaka). She mentioned a "date city" Sannomiya where many people go on dates near the end of the evening and I invited her to go there another day. She said "We can go to Sannomiya maybe" so who knows.
Kumi and Julie have left the map to parts unknown. I haven't heard from either in almost a month now so it's my guess that I put on the charm too much or something and now they are avoiding me. Which is unfortunate, but as you all know I have very poor taste (or good taste in my opinion) and thus never choose the women who are interested in me. I would have like to explore a relationship with Kumi as she is an interesting woman and not bad looking either *^.^* Such is life though.
So there the love line report back to you in studio U.S.

Long time ...

So sorry for the long time between posts. I've been busy with many things and have not taken the time while I've been home. Gomene... So what has been going on since the last post you ask? Well here is a run down.
My school had their sports day event on the 4th of October. My school had it late because we had construction at the school during the summer holidays so the students had no time to practice til school started in September. Ours was rather tame compared to the others I've seen. We had the normal races 50M 100M 200M 400M 1000M 1500M 4X100 4X200. But most schools have several silly relays too. My school only had one silly relay per class and then two group funny relays. All in all it was fun though. I competed with the kiddies in the 400M race. I did quite well I think coming in at 59seconds. I was suffering at the end. I truely did the GAMBATE! After sports day that night all the teachers went to an enkai (work drinking party). It was funny to see all my serious teachers fucked up XD.
I've started at my elementary school snow too. I've gone to each of them once and this week I will return to Minami Otsu. They are both fun to visit, but I'm not sure if I could handle being at them full time. The students are fun, but the teachers are much more difficult to comunicate with so it makes my job a whole lot harder.
Last weekend I participated in the shrine festival in my neighborhood. It was a lot of fun and I admit I got very smashed (literally and figuratively my shoulder stil hurt a few days ago). The idea is there is a spirit that comes out once a year during the harvest and gets together with a bunch of other spirits. So the Japanese carry around these large portable shrines and show the spirit a good time. Course the spirits get into tussles so thats where we peons come in we carry the shrines and mash em together in shrine fights. It was quite fun, though I'm sure the alcohol helped to allow it to be more fun cause the shrines are heavy and hurt resting on my tall shoulders XD.
This weekend I visited briefly at another shrine festival a Japan renound one. Unfortunately I forgot my camera >.< I was there yesterday and truth be told it wasn't much diffrent from my local one so the pictures won't really be missed. The main event was today when the "fighting festival happend" Supposedly at this one the shrines take over 100 people to move each and there have been know to be serious injuries done to people mashed between them by accident. Unfortunately even though I was invited to watch by the Mayor of Nada I wasn't able to go because I promissed to go to a wedding party for a friend I met over the summer. One of my students Tomiko was married on Oct. 1 and today was th party for it. It was great fun and two other people, Jane and John Roy, went to the party too.
So there is the run down on the past few weeks and I'll try and be more dilegent on keeping all you many readers (prolly few few if any >.<) up to date on my doings. Cheers!
