Lazy

So ... I've been lazy about posting blogs this week. But hopefully the last two were amusing to you. TGIF! I can't believe how much I wanted this week to end and I have no idea why. Anyway, not a whole lot new going on. On Tuesday I ran around with the ichi nensei (1st years) in the afternoon. Still low on the classes atm, but my co-workers seem to be busy all the time and so I don't want to bother them (especially since they said they'd tell me when they'd figured out my schedule). That's all for now time to get ready for work.

Not Much ...

... new. The weekend is nearly over and I really wish work wasn't tomorrow. I've become a bit lazy about work ;_; I think it's because there wasn't much of a break and last week was just really really boring and didn't exactly "jump start" my teaching impulses. Anyway this weekend I went to a big party on Friday night to celebrate 3 of The Residence's ALT's and our Japanese friend's birthdays. Mac and Chelsea were both born on the 13th, Karen's birthday is May 1st and Maya's birthday is the 21st. So we went to an Izakaiya and ate and drink and did a bit of Kareoke, then it was off to Coast Bar for a bit more fun ... dancing and drinking. Overal it was pretty fun. There will be another party this coming Saturday, this time at Mac's apartment. Yuriko may or may not come back to Himeji and come to the party (she is my ex teacher at Ohtsu that got fed up with "the bitch" and quit).
As far as Yoriko goes I am not sure where I stand. She seems interested, but wants to put off doing anything because at the moment she is job hunting and so is really busy. So guess we'll see. Also I saw Sachiko last Friday and we caught up a bit. She was the woman I danced with and hung out with on New Year's Eve but didn't follow up with because at the time I was trying to narrow my options down to either Yoko or Yoriko. Anyway not sure where I stand in her eyes but it was good to see her again.
Other than that I have been quite lazy recently only running 3 times last week and doing 1 weights/abs workout last week. As a result my legs and abs really hurt after my hard workout last Thursday. So this week I intend to be better ... we'll see if this happens or not. Last week I had the excuse of Hanami and went to several social events related to the cherry blossom viewings. However this week is business as usual as far as I know so hopefully that means I'll kick my ass out the door more. See you all very soon.

>=P

Yes Steve is always looking around it seems. At Ohtsu we got 11 new teachers this term and one of them sits right in front of my desk. She just happens to be quite good looking ... :P. Anyway today I got to chatting with her. Before she started at Ohtsu her first three years of teaching were divided between two senior high schools, one of which was Himeji Minami! How weird is that, that she use to work at the school I visited when I was in high school (and quite possibly could have gone to around the same time ... dunno yet ...) She is a P.E. teacher and thus English skills are not exactly required for her job, but we were able to chat for a few minutes. She seems very nice and is a dog person. She likes large dogs, guide dog breeds, and has lots of doggie type things on her desk including many Snoopys.
The rest of the new teachers are cool too, but seeing as how this blog is about my perspective and focus ... lol. Anyway I haven't taught yet this term and it seems as though I won't get a chance until next week probably ... so I've been reading lots and lots and lots ... BOOOOORING! I enjoy reading, but 7 hours of it can be a bit much. It is expecially difficuly because the current book I'm reading "Gaijin" is soo detailed and has so many plots it makes my head spin after an hour of it or so. So yeah thats the update. Hope all is well with you fine readers. :)

Ode to Bean

So it's been exactly one year since Jolean passed and I still miss her very much. Even more so since Princess passed last week and is now hanging out with Critter (Jolean's rival who passed only a month after her) no doubt. Anyway just a short blog to mark the day and to say "I miss you puss."

Back to School

So today was the first day of the new term and Japan's "Back to School" sales have begun. Kinda weird to see back to school signs up all over in March as opposed the the usual September in the states. Lots of new teachers at school. We'll see how that works out. My buddies (english teachers I liked) are both gone though :(. So hopefully the new teachers I'll be working with are cool like they were. Guess we'll see :P.

Princess (not Japan related ...)

R.I.P. Princess you were a fun loving dog and friend ;_; I hope you have passed on to a happier place and are playing with your friend Critter whom you've missed for the past year. We all loved you very much.
